Kids' Race Day

Kids' One-Mile Fun Run

The Mississippi Blues Marathon Kids' One-Mile Fun Run is an exciting opportunity to introduce children to a road racing event. The 2015 event will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10. The event will be timed, but no winners will be announced. The primary focus of our race is to have fun and enjoy running together.

The one-mile course is adjacent to the marathon start and finish area near the Mississippi Art Garden and Thalia Mara Hall in downtown Jackson. Maps of the start and finish areas will be available closer to race day. Children ages 5 to 13 are eligible to participate.

Please note that fun run registration is limited to 3,000 participants. Paid online registration is available until the limit is reached, or until November 21, 2014, whichever occurs first.

For kids and parents interested in tracking mileage as they train for our event, click on the "Training Tracker" link to view and download an easy-to-use mileage tracker. Adobe .pdf and Microsoft Excel file types are available.

Volunteer for the Kids' One-Mile Fun Run

The Mississippi Blues Marathon Kids’ One-Mile Fun Run needs volunteers to support our event. We are seeking adult volunteer support from parents and faculty of our participating schools, local military and law enforcement personnel, businesses and community organizations, as well as high school student volunteers (11-12 grades).

Each volunteer will receive an official Kids’ Road Crew t-shirt.
