The Mississippi Blues Marathon Kids' One-Mile Fun Run is a great opportunity to introduce kids to a road-racing event and serves as the culminating event for the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Get Ready to Run school P.E. program in Central Mississippi. The event will be timed, but no winners will be announced. Results will be posted after the race by race number only. The primary focus of our race is to have fun and enjoy running together. The Kids' One-Mile Fun Run is open to runners ages 5 to 13 and under and limited to 3,000 participants.
The Kids' One-Mile Fun Run begins and ends at the front of Thalia Mara Hall, adjacent to the marathon start and finish area near the Mississippi Museum of Art in downtown Jackson. The event is held on the same day as the Mississippi Blues Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay and Quarter Note events. Check out the Race Day Information page for details on how the event works. Check back in the coming months for registration information.
After two great years for the Get Ready to Run school program in Central Mississippi schools, we've extended the program to the Mississippi Gulf Coast! The program will conclude with a Get Ready to Run Kids' One-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the University of Southern Mississippi Long Beach Campus.
