2012 Mississippi Blues Marathon &
Half-Marathon Welcomes Chris Waddell

Organizers for the 5th Annual Mississippi Blues Marathon & Half-Marathon are proud to announce the participation of Chris Waddell in the marathon on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Waddell is a decorated Paralympic athlete known for his September 2009 handcycle summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and the award-winning documentary of his climb. Read the press release.

Want to run back-to-back marathons? Well, here's your chance! The Mississippi Blues Marathon is partnering with the First Light Marathon in Mobile, Alabama. A special, double registration rate is available for hearty souls (with hearty soles) wishing to complete both events on the weekend of January 7-8, 2012. Participating runners will receive a 20 percent discount on entry fees (applied automatically on second registration). Read the press release.

2011 Blues Commission Check Presentation

The Mississippi Blues Marathon & Half-Marathon continued its support of our state’s Blues heritage with a donation of $10,000 to the Mississippi Blues Commission. The donation is made possible through proceeds from the 2011 race, which was held January 8 in Jackson.
